<p>Unless you have been living under a rock, I am sure that you have seen the ads and infomercials for the P90X workout system. I know you are reading this because you might be skeptical about it and you want to see what others are saying about it before you spend your hard earned money on another useless product.</p>
<p>Let me tell you something, I am a 38 year old 5&#8242;11&#8243; guy and after a few years of poor eating, zero exercise and many hours of watching TV, one day I was horrified when I tipped the scales at 305 and I almost died. I had a serious case of man boobs, spare tires the size of a utility truck, not to mention high blood pressure and serious candidate for type 1 diabetes.</p>
<p>Now, I have never been into the whole ripped guy kinda thing, but a good friend was following P90X workouts and the eating plan and he recommended that I should try it. I am not going to lie to you. The first couple of weeks were horrible. I felt like every joint and muscle in my body ached and I couldn&#8217;t really keep up with the workouts on the dvds, but I was determined to finish it because I was sick to my stomach of being so fat, out of shape and ugly looking.</p>
<p>Long story short, I finished the 90 days and I went from 305 down to 220. I know that people that are that heavy tend to lose far more weight than someone that is not morbidly obese like I was, but my point is that if an overgrown fatty like myself can do it, so can you. Like I said, I have never been into the ripped guy, take the shirt off at the first chance, but I am very confident these days to go out to the beach or be on the &#8220;skins&#8221; team of football with my buddies.</p>
<p><b>The Complete P90X System</b></p>
<p>This workout comes with 12 DVDs. One for each workout. It also comes with a nutrition guide that if you ask me, you need to follow to a &#8220;T&#8221; in order to see good results. It also comes with a calendar a fitness guide and online support.</p>
<p>Here comes a warning though, this workout is not for those people who want lose weight taking a couple of acai pills and avoid exercise and a good diet. If you are someone that doesn&#8217;t want to work hard for your goals, then walk away and save your money. This is going to show you what you are made of and will test your resolve, soak you each and every day and make you ask for mercy, but in the end, you will feel better than a million bucks when you see the amazing progress that you made.</p>

<p>I often have people email me and ask me if medifast offers a sample or small package to allow you to taste some of the foods before placing a larger order. Many want to know if they like the foods before they commit or they&#8217;d like to know which of the foods they would prefer the most. Sometimes, I&#8217;m asked if you&#8217;re better off just ordering individual portions of some of the meals. I will discuss these concerns in the following article.</p>
<p><strong>You Can Buy Medifast Foods Individually, But You&#8217;ll Pay More For Them Per Meal:</strong> In order for you to buy enough individual foods to last you for a couple of days or more (since you eat five times per day,) you might pay more than you&#8217;d pay if you would have bought a small package (which most people end up doing anyway.)</p>
<p>Yes, Medifast does allow for you to order the meals separately. For example, you can buy 7 shakes for $15.50. You can buy 7 bars for $16.75. 7 servings of oatmeal is also $15.50. But you&#8217;re only getting 7 servings of these things. And since you will need five per day, you&#8217;ll be spending around $100 per week and you still probably won&#8217;t be trying all of the foods, since there&#8217;s around 70 choices. In short, you won&#8217;t have the variety you might have otherwise had.</p>
<p><strong>Buying A Smaller Package Is Usually The Cheaper Way To Go If You Want To Sample The Medifast Foods:</strong> If we&#8217;re evaluating cost per meal (especially considering that most people will go ahead and order a package after trying the foods,) you&#8217;ll usually do better if you go with the two week variety package. This package gives you 70 meals, lasts for two weeks, and costs around $154.50. It gives you a sampling of shakes, bars, puddings, soups, and oatmeal.</p>
<p>The cheapest option (per meal) is the monthly plan which offers 143 meals for $299. And although the price per meal is cheaper, the real advantage to the monthly package is that you get to use the good coupons with it (those that offer $50 off or weeks of free food.) But some people move toward this once they&#8217;ve tried an individual order or two week package first. Most find the diet meals to be not as bad tasting as they expected. Much of it is pretty good. But some people really do like to see for themselves.</p>

<p>The Obliques are a very important part of your midsection and it is a section that is often over looked when people considering working out their abs. I have compiled a list of some of the best exercises that specifically target the oblique section.</p>
<p>(1) Side Bridge: Start by lying on a mat with your legs straight out. Turn sideways holding your body up with one bent arm parallel to the floor. Keep your abs tight for 60 seconds.</p>
<p>(2) Ball Oblique Twists: Hold an exercise ball above your head and then proceed to come upwards using your abs and oblique&#8217;s to bring the medicine ball in front of your body. Focus on not staying perfectly balanced and you can use dumbbells to make this exercise harder.</p>
<p>(3) Cable Side Bends: start by grabbing a cable with your torso bent to the side. Raise the weight and use your opposing oblique muscle to do the contracting action. Exhale until you are fully contracted on the opposite side.</p>
<p>(4) Ball Side Crunches: Start by draping yourself over the ball front first. Slowly stagger your legs front to back while putting your oblique&#8217;s on the ball and trying to put your hands over your head. Pull up with your abdominals and oblique&#8217;s until you cannot go any further and return to a full stretch.</p>
<p>By doing these four oblique exercises regularly, you can ensure that a very important muscle of your midsection is not neglected and that you create an all around strong core.</p>

<p>This is a very common question to ask someone. Did you ever ask yourself this question when you step into the gym? It is completely optional to you, but I will explain how doing one thing first can affect the other.</p>
<p>Doing cardio first:</p>
<p>If you choose to do cardio before you go lift weights, then you will not be able to lift your best once you are finished with cardio. You have drained some of your energy away so once you are going to lift weight, you won&#8217;t be able to increase your max strength or lift your normal weights with the same resistance or repetition. For example, if you normally do 50 pound dumbbell shoulder press, you will probably be able to do 45 pound ones after your cardio session.</p>
<p>Doing weightlifting first:</p>
<p>If you lift weights first, then you will have a difficult time improving your cardio performance. For example, if you have tried running 8 mph for 10 minutes without doing any weightlifting, then you might be able to do 8 mph for 6 minutes after your weightlifting session.</p>
<p>There is not right or wrong, but it all depends on what your primary goal is. If you are trying to build muscle, then you should do weightlifting first, and then do your cardio last. Even if you are trying to lose weight, you can still choose to weightlifting before you do cardio. There is no solid rule as to what you should do, but what I&#8217;ve mentioned is generally the case in the gym.</p>
