Everyday our body’s weight does not seem to change much. It’s this fact that will have many believe that their body is in a state of balance, and think, I’m OK…. But that is not really the truth.

You have to know that your body is constantly breaking down or building your muscle tissue. This is essential to understand if you are looking to burn fat and build muscle during your workout routine. Your body is constantly in either a catabolism or anabolic state.

Catabolism – is when your body breaks down proteins at a faster rate than it synthesizes new proteins. A catabloic is state is induced by heavy training and can also be brought on by dietary deficiency.

Anabolic – this is the exact opposite, your body has the nutrients it needs on hand and is in a resting state. More protein is being synthesized into muscle tissue than is being broken down for energy.

So, this being said, the mistake is to think that you are building muscle while working out at home or in the gym. When working out, you’re in a catabolic state, breaking down the molecules needed for energy to fuel your workout.

Key point here is to remember that it is during your recovery time where your goal is to stay anabolic. You want to provide your body what is necessary to stimulate growth by stimulating a net increase in muscle protein synthesis.

Essentially, what we have here is that to burn fat, it is recommended that you eat more proteins, especially during your recovery time.
